Sustaining our Towns is running a number of different programs and initiatives across South Eastern NSW within our project region.
South East Food Discussion Paper
The South East Food project has just launched ‘South East Food: Growing the Regional Food Economy in the South East’ Discussion Paper. We are keen to get comments on the paper in order to inform the South East Food Action Plan. There will also be two regional food meetings to inform the South East Food Action Plan the mornings of 14 February 2012 (in Narooma) and on 21 Febrary (in Queanbeyan). Tele-commuting hubs research underway (extended)
Sustaining Our Towns is researching the potential for increased remote work, either from home or from tele-commuting hubs located in towns and villages around Canberra. Click here to access the online survey now. It should take about 15 minutes to complete. The deadline for completing the survey has been extended to mid February 2012. Invitation to share stories of significant change
The Sustaining our Towns project wraps up on 31 March 2012. As part of this process we are holding two project evaluation meetings the afternoons of Tuesday 14 Febrary (in Narooma) and Tuesday 21 Febrary (in Queanbeyan). To find out more see the Evaluation page of our website.
Forks, Talks and Walks
Come along to a day of sustainable country living and history at St Clemens near Galong on Saturday 3 March 2012. Enjoy local farmer’s markets, food and sustainability displays during the day. Then attend a gala musical performance and dinner in the evening featuring food from local producers prepared by top chefs. Training for Transition
Sustaining our Towns will run a ‘Training for Transition’ course at The Crossing Land Education Centre near Bermagui on 9-11 March 2012. Course costs will be covered for up to 24 attendees. To find out more about the course including how to book see our Capacity Building page.

DIY Sustainable Living Library Kit
Our DIY sustainable living library kits are now available for you to borrow from libraries in our region. They include our Home Sustainability Guide, a number of devices to help you assessment the sustainability of your home (not available in some areas for risk reasons) and a range of sustainability books and DVD’s.
