Sustaining our Towns

Our Region

Sustainability – Our Community, Our Future.

South-Eastern NSW is a region of  dynamic communities who live in a place that comprises beautiful towns, mountains, bushland, rivers, farms and coastlines. We have the potential to lead the way in sustainable solutions for rural and coastal Australia.

What do you envision a sustainable community would look like? How would it be different to where you live today? Read this short essay entitled Valentine’s Day 2030 by Stuart Whitelaw of SAGE (Sustainable Agriculture and Gardening Eurobodalla) to see if his vision accords with yours.

The Sustaining our Towns project aims to build a regional approach to sustainability by delivering a number of regional initiatives during 2011 including:

  • Integration of sustainability into regional events and festivals
  • Development of the South Eastern NSW food industry
  • Investigation of tele-commuting hubs around the ACT

Sustainability – it’s our future.
