There are many online resources available to help businesses reduce their energy, water, waste and ecological footprint.  This page provides useful links to a few resources we think may be of use to businesses within our region.

Sustainable business resources

Sensis Sustainable Business guide

NSW Green Skills Business Guide : an online guide to sustainable businesses.  The site includes useful sustainable business guides for a range of industries in the ‘Resources’ section including offices, printers, plumbers, painters and more.

NABERS (the National Building Environmental Rating Scheme) is a performance-based rating system for existing buildings, including hospitals, retail, hotels and offices.  NABERS rates a building on the basis of its measured operational impacts on the environment.

The NSW Save Power website has a focus on how you can save power and money in your business.

Business Treading Lightly worked along the south coast of NSW to help businesses work towards sustainability. The project has now ended, but their website has many good resources including some great case studies.

Sustainability Victoria  has a great collection of resources for business sustainability.  Many of the resources in the For Government part of this website are also very useful for businesses.

Planet Ark has recently established a Business Recycling database that may help you to find suitable recycling contractors to service your business.

Resources for particular business types

The NSW Department of Environment Climate Change and Water has a range of Small Business Guides on its website. These include information for auto repairers, dry cleaners, landscapers, builders and more.
